16) Choose or Lose

Am I a bad woman

A woman with sinful desires

I had a dream of them last night

His fingertips caressing the curves of my chest

A moan catches in my throat as he tucked my hair back

My eyes fluttered shut feeling his rough lips on the arc of my neck

This feeling is worse I know

The temptation is curse I believe

Hands on my chest

Lips on my neck

My breath hitched as he cupped the wetness between my legs

I pry my eyes open and witnessed the lust

Those three pair of predatory eyes exciting my thirst

Telling me

Yes I am a bad woman

A woman with sinful desires

Aadya poured some milk into her coffee, gave it a stir and had a sip.

"You are looking depressed my child" said Mr. Mishra observing the look on Aadya's face.

She looked at him and gave a contented smile "I am perfectly fine sir. And definitely not depressed" she answered as she watched the milk travel down the coffee.

"Are you fooling me or yourself Aadya" he asked her raising his brows as he took a sip of his tea.

Mr. Mishra have seen her growing in work as well as life. She is mature than other girls in her age. He sometimes wonders is this maturity, mannerism and confidence is in her blood! If that's the case, he would love to have a heartily conversation with her parents. But he knew that he can't as they are no more in the world.

He recalled the first time he saw, she use to have a pixie cut with chubby cheeks. She was jumping with excitement when she met him for the first time. He was a well known face then as he had received a honourable award for his outstanding works. He smiled at this memory.

He had seen her journey of becoming a butterfly from a caterpillar.

But now the bright smile of hers that can lighten up the whole room is missing. He is getting a fake smile in return.

"Fooling you? How can someone fool you sir? You have eyes of an eagle" her eyes widened as she pretended to be shocked.

He laughed at her dramatic gestures, few people at the office's cafeteria looked towards them and passed a smile. It was good for them, boss being happy means good day at work.

But he can see through her pretension of happiness. He was planning to give her a responsibility of monitoring their next project. It was related to upcoming vaccination programme of children. He knew how good she is in her work. Specially with children. She adores them the most, so who can be a better candidate for heading their most crucial project.

But the problem was the current situation in her personal life. Everyone can see Abhimanyu's arrest has affected her very much but he was sure there is something else too which is bothering her.

"Lets take a walk. What do you say?" he asked.

"Yes of course. Why not" said Aadya and getup from her place.

Walking on the concrete pathway, she glanced at the winter sun shining in the sky, the cloud was grey still the sun was shining not in its full glory but shining. She had always wanted to shine like a sun, but she knew for shining like a sun you have to first burn like a sun!

She is a smart girl, but also very sensitive. I wonder how this young girl is dealing with everything alone... Thought Mr. Mishra

He was worried about her. It must be very difficult for her. Poor kid their is no one to support her in this hard time.

"Aadya are you sure you are fine. I mean with everything going on. You can share your problems with me child. I am like your father" he gently asked her. She looked at him for a minute.

He is right he is like my father. If Papa would have been alive, he might be same age as Mr. Mishra

She felt loved by his concern. It touched her heart. He genuinely cares for her.. How fortunate she is to have this kind of people in her life.

Tears filled her eyes as she looked at his concerned face, it reminded her so much of her Papa.

"Thank you. I am so grateful to have you and Anokhi in my life. You have taught so much to me Sir and now this concern and love in your eyes for me. I am a very lucky girl"

He could hear the quivering in Aadya's voice it made his heart heavy.

"Then speak Aadya, what is bothering you. I know it is much more than Abhimanyu's ongoing case," he asked her as they sat on a wooden bench on the side.

She looked at him surprised. How did he know that it is much more than just about Abhi's case!

"Tell me Aadya. What's bothering you" he asked her giving a kindest smile.

How can she share this with him? How can she tell him that the Triumvirates wants to marry her? They want her to be their wife! How can she tell him that instead of giving them a hard slap on face, she has kissed one of them! And was not that weird enough..she liked the kiss too! How can she tell him that her heart is wanting all three of them!! And this want is killing her...

No she can't share this with anyone.

Mr. Mishra keenly watched the look on her face.

He frowned seeing her reaction, she was crying. Few tears made their way to her chin. He again tried to perceive her expressions.

Was.. Was she feeling disgusted by herself ? This alarmed him.

Why a smart and beautiful girl like Aadya is feeling disgusted by herself?

"Aadya stop crying and tell me everything. You are scaring me child"

"No I can't. You will judge me" she said wiping her tears.

"Aadya I am the one who have always taught you and others to never judge a person. So how can you accept me to judge you or anyone else?"

He was right. He will not judge her. She can trust him right?

She gathered her courage and start speaking.

"I am fighting a battle with myself. A battle of illusion and reality! Somewhere inside me there is a voice telling me to do the things which are beyond my imaginations, my pride, my belief and my virtue only because I find a new kind of happiness in them. I was never like this. I have not been this confused before. You feel empowered when you can take your own decisions. The decision made by your own will, pride and contentment. But this one thing, this one feeling is making me doubt my self! My virtue. My heart is telling me to follow this feeling and surrender myself to the desires and temptation. But my mind is telling me that this feeling, this excitement will go away with time. There is no need to succumb to the desires, it will only give me pain and suffering in future.

I am finding myself shifting to the illusion of a delightful future, a future filled with love, care and prosperity but I know the reality will be different.. in place of love, there will be jealousy. Insecurity will replace care and I will left with nothing.. Just an empty hands and empty soul with no sign of prosperity"

Taking a gentle breath she looked at him and said.

"I am pursuing affection. A new kind of affection... Affection for three different men!"

She was accepting a shocked reaction from him. But Mr. Mishra was as calm as cucumber. He did not even showed a slight disgust or discomfort on her confession.

"Follow what your heart says Aadya," he said in a normal tone.

"But.. " she was surprised by his reaction.

"Hear me Aadya. I want to share something with you" he said staring at a distance. His posture was so calm and comforting. She found herself nodding at him.

"When I was at your age I had this same dilemma as you. I was only a teenager then it was much more difficult for me. I didn't have anyone with whom I can share my doubts. I was ashamed of myself. I knew that my family, my friends, the society. No one will accept this side of me. I was scared. Scared of rejection, loneliness and ignorance. I was scared that what if I choose that path they will not accept me. No one will support me I will be alone. My friends and family who adored me so much will ignore me. They will be disgusted by me. All this possibilities and what ifs made me what I am today.

A man in his sixties who still don't know who is he? A man who is not aware of his own self. A man living in denial. A man thinking about everyone around him but not once about himself. A man who have lived his whole life making other people happy but not even once thought about his happiness. I don't want you to end up like me Aadya.

I am not telling you to submit yourself to those feelings. I am just suggesting you to at least give it a chance. Do not think about what will happen in future, because it's not in our hands Aadya. If you want to experience this kind of relationship then give it a try. If you are feeling love for more than one person then it's okay, you are special.Don't think about that what if you get hurt in future. Just think about now, what you want and what you need. Love is Love Aadya. At least explore yourself maybe while loving them you will find yourself"

Hearing him she was in deep thought..

I know I want to do this not for anyone else but for myself. This could be a biggest mistake of my life. I might get hurt but for now at this moment this feels right!

"You are right sir. I will definitely think about your suggestion. Thank you," she said to him and looked at the time on her wrist watch.

It's time to meet Abhimanyu.

"Sir I have to go now as I already informed you before I am visiting Abhimanyu today," she said with a small smile.

"Yes sure you can go now. But hear me clearly. Never feel disgusted or ashamed about yourself. Am I clear," he said strictly.

"Yes sir," she said

"By the way. What was your dillema when you were young? What are you still hiding from the world?" she asked him confused.

He smiled at her and said.

"I am gay."

After some time

Aadya was pateintly waiting for Abhimanyu to come. Her mind was wondering to the conversation with Mr. Mishra now and then.

She was baffled by his declaration. Poor him he is hiding his true self from the world since a long time.

Her trail of thought was broken as someone tapped on the glass window in front of her. She looked up there he was.

She beamed a huge smile seeing him..

"Hi,” she whispered.

He pointed to the telephone booth on the side, telling her they will converse through this.

She shook her head at her stupidity and held a receiver to her ear.

"Hi,” she whispered again.

She was very happy seeing him after so long. Her happiness increased seeing that he is looking better than last time.

She tsked seeing that he was growing his hairs long.

"You look great in short hairs. Why are you growing it?" she asked him sadly he is not looking good in long hairs. That's her opinion!

"That's not what that woman officer thinks" her eyes widened hearing his words.

Holy hell. Was he flirting with the damn woman police officer!

Abhimanyu laughed seeing her expressions. She is so gullible. How much he had missed her.

"Hey..chill Tigress. I was just kidding. I made a bet with my gym mate that I will look much better in long hairs than short hairs. So I am growing my hairs long" he said nonchalantly.

Aadya glared at him and said, "Don't be friends with those criminals. You are better than that. And if you are doing gym then eat good too. How's the food here?"

"First thing first, he has not proven guilty so do not assume that he is a criminal. Second thing I am eating well. Yes the food is not that great but at least I am getting a food here, I am grateful for that. Forget about me and tell me, how are you? You better be good. Don't stress yourself about me or anything else" he told her in his big brother voice.

She smiled seeing his concern for her. He is in prison because of her and he is happily passing his days in prison just for her.

She is extremely lucky.

But what about they said that night. Abhimanyu getting punished for his own deeds! Should she ask him about this or not?

Abhimanyu perceive the doubtful look on her face and asked, "Did something or someone is bothering you sweetheart?" he asked through the phone receiver.

She looked at him and bit her lip. How will she ask him this?

"I want to ask you something," she mumbled slowly on a receiver.

He nodded and said, "then ask"

"I believe you more than anyone. You just hear me, don't take my questions to your heart."

He again nodded and gestured her to continue.

"I know from where you get that huge amount of money for the island bid. Because of that deal you are in prison. It should be me who should be in your place. You are saving me by sacrificing yourself. But what about the financial support you get at the beginning of your business journey? I am sorry to say, but you did not come from a rich family so who supported you? From whose support you had became the most successful businessman in just eight years. Who supported you by going against The Triumvirates" she looked down feeling ashamed of doubting him.

He did not speak and heard her patiently. He carefully scrutinized her.

When she looked at his face again, she found that he was smiling.

It is wiser for me to ask for mercy from Abhimanyu. I have insulted him indirectly by asking this question.. She thought.

"I... I know... I am so sorry.." she said

"Aadya don't be sorry. You have all the rights to ask this questions.

In my initial days as a businessman the urge of defeating those three was so damn high that I took help from their another enemy. They supported me in my initial days. Financially and... Yeah financially only"

"Who are they?" she asked curiously.

He didn't speak anything. But his eyes were enough to send her a clear message.

He can't take their name. It can be used against him in court as the phone call was monitored by the authorities. It means that not all the allegations filed against him were false. He was included in illegal exchange of money.

Aadya pursed her lips in this new found information. Now it will be much more difficult for her to prove him innocent.

"Okay" she said

"You don't hate me right?" he asked her vulnerably.

"I can never hate you" she assured him.

He heaved a sigh of relief. He can tolerate any pain of the world. But not the pain of her hatred.

"But I will definitely kill you once you came out from prison" she deadpanned!

He smiled at her words.

Before going she said one last thing,"you better cut your long hairs short. You freaking look like a cheap version of John Abraham" she sneered at him.

He just chuckled at her words.

They bid goodbye as the visiting time was over.

Aadya was contented she will do anything to free Abjimanyu. Even if he is guilty!

....

Vikram entered the club with his brother Aditya, a group of henchmen following them.

"Mr. Rajawat. We are honored to have you here. So many people look forward to seeing you" said one of the man sitting in the VIP lounge as Vikram and Aditya walked towards them.

Before Vikram opened his mouth, Aditya said, "Well he is here because of your invitation. Although I have invited him several times, he always wanted me to stay away from him"

"Are you proud of speaking about that?" Vikram asked and kicked Aditya's foot and sat down on one of the sofa.

While they were having a conversation, a charming girl came over swaying her sensual figure. She had a beauty of goddess.

Rahul one of the man sitting there pointed to Vikram and said to her, "sit here, relax and amuse him by massaging him" the girl beamed with joy and sat down to cling with Vikram's arms.

"Don't" Vikram pulled away and pointed to the opposite sofa.

"Sit there" he coldly said to the woman.

She didn't seemed happy and moved reluctantly. She sat next to Rahul.

Rahul observed Vikram's reaction and asked, " What's wrong? Bad mood? Who offended you? "

"No one" he said.

Aditya smiled evily and said, " Don't you know? Vikram has changed, now he appreciates and respects women more"

"Are you serious?" asked Rahul. "Really, just appreciates"

Vikram looked at Aditya blankly, he was at loss of words.

"He is pursuing affection" Aditya said.

The group of men looked at each other and began to roar with laughter.

Vikram did not speak and left them alone. Aditya went up to him and offer him a glass of wine.

"I admire you. You are in your thirties, and falling in love with twenty one year old a girl. Does she understands your so called love?"

"Twenty one year old?" several man laughed wildly.

"What's so funny?" Vikram took off his suit and put it over the back of the sofa. The others stopped laughing and turned their attention on pouring wine.

Aditya tried to hide his laughter, leaning on Vikram's shoulder.

After a long time he finally controlled his laughter and said in a whisper," just imagine Vikram people are laughing at the age gap between you and her. What will be their reaction on this idea of a polyandry marriage!"

Hearing this words from his own brothers mouth, Vikram sighed and leaned against the sofa.

"You are my brother. I thought you knew better than this. But I guess I have to teach you everything like everytime. You know, who can suppress us the Triumvirate?" he asked his brother.

"Who can suppress the Triumvirate?" Aditya asked bewildered. He don't know anyone who have the power to suppress or torment the triumvirate!

"It's her. Aadya. And you know what the funny thing is?"

"What" Aditya asked again.

"I will gladly get tormented by her! And about these people laughing, gossiping ,making fun of us behind our back. I am giving you a life lesson for this kind of people Aditya. Take a note"

Aditya pursed his lips, he haven't encountered this side of Vikram. Who is gladly ready to torment by a woman.

"These people are evil. But more than these people.. Money is evil. In this world of greed. Money talks. They will never raise a finger on us because they are smart enough to know that from where the money comes. It is us because of whom they are here pouring wine on the glass. If not for us they are not even good enough to be a begger outside this club"

Aditya heard the words coming form his brother's mouth intently.

"That's what it is all about. Money!" he said.

"Yes it is," Vikram affirmed.

Aditya clicked his tongue in annoyance and said, "Stop wasting your emotions on a girl like Aadya, Vikram. She is too precious to be with a men like you three!"

Vikram observed the look in his brother's face, trying to understand his intentions behind the words..

Men like us! What does he mean by this? We are the men that every girl desire. We are the men that she desires! Vikram smiled contently at his thoughts.

I hope Aadya understand her value and not end up with these three. The society will destroy her self esteem. She will become a laughing stock in the society. No money can seal a mocking and humiliating mouth of society!! Aditya thought.

Before he can raise another question to his brother, he get disturbed by the ringing sound of Vikram's cell phone.

Vikram creased his brows, he was getting a call from an unknown number.

He answered the call.

His heart skipped a beat hearing her voice after that night.

"Aadya" he mumbled her name like he is whispering god's name.
